After Christmas Mehs

The presents have all been opened, the tree will be taken down very soon. All we have to look forward to here in MN is 3 long months of cold, wet, very white winter.

I went for a walk on Christmas Eve, and if it wasn't for the snow blowing in my face...it would of been really beautiful. There is just something about the cold stillness of a winter night. Light whisps of breath being blown out in front of your mouth. The flush of your cheeks. The crunch of the snow beneath your foot. When you return to warmth, the hot rush and tingle of blood flowing to your skin again. We so seldom go out into the cold at night, it's very easy to forget how beautiful it all is.

I'm hoping to start a new tradition of a Christmas Eve walk out in the night. I love the thought of stopping to appreciate the beauty of the night, amid the hustle and bustle of the season.

It's been dreadfully cold the last few nights. The other kitty I feed lives outside somewhere hopefully warm. She just started showing up on my deck one day, so I've been feeding her ever since. She came 2 days ago...and before that about a week ago. I think about her. If she is freezing, hungry or worse, sick or in pain. Poor girl. I am planning on building a cat shelter. I know....a little late for that. But hopefully next year (if she makes it) she can stay in that for the winter. I'm also thinking about trapping her with a live trap as soon as it gets warmer. I hope she survives the winter! Sweet little girl. Does she have a chance??? Anyone know?

Introductions are in order.......

So .... the cat blog is born...and for now I'm just writing into oblivion until someone actually READS this. Not sure if my words will meet anyone else's brian...but lets just hope for the best shall we?

Here is Moe...my first cat ever. The COOLEST kitty. The namesake of my blog.

He enjoys being a DICK, turning away from me when I call his name and want him to come over to me, and running into the kitchen when I walk in there, both doing his best to trip me, and also hoping to high heaven it's time to eat. 9 times out of 12, it is NOT time to eat. Moe is a healthy....15 pounds. We call him Moe-d the Hutt. His full name is Kool Moe-D. He is also Moe-D Wan Kenobi. He is really sweet and cuddly when he wants to be, which is mehhhh about once or twice a day.

This is Ding. Named after a pet goat in some book I read who wore a bell around its cute little goat neck. Ding is sweet. She really is. She is just...uhhh..broken. She has constant heart attacks. If anyone in the house is loud? Heart attack. If anyone rings the doorbell? Heart attack. If anyone just happens to come around the corner and suprise her? Heart attack. If people come over..she is under the bed. This is just the way she is. I'm 99% sure she has gotten nothing but love and sweetness from humans her entire life...but still...this is just how she is. She comes to sit on my lap every night and kneeds my plush white blanket as she meows these crazy little meows at me. This is what she does to be cute.. What a weird little girl. I love her strangeness though. Makes her unique...even if she is a fail kitty.

So those are my cute lil kittehs. I never had any pets as a child. I am so amazed how animals can have such distinct personalities. I'm amazed by how they communicate both with me and each other. So interesting!

Well that is all for now...more to come later.

Oh if you have not seen Maru...I highly suggest it...so hilarous. She reminds me of Moe.
